Karen Maurer is an Occupational Therapist with over 27 years’ clinical experience, who runs Capable Spaces, a boutique community-based Occupational Therapy service in Newcastle NSW. Karen and her team support adults with progressive neurological conditions, palliative care and spinal cord injuries, using interventions to help people live as independently as possible in their homes, such as assistive technology, home modifications, home automation, and technology access. Karen has a passion for providing clinical supervision and practical training, supporting clinicians to grow their scope of practice to help maximise people’s independence, function and safety in the community.
