The Home Modification Shadow Series is an engaging online course designed specifically for occupational therapists seeking to enhance their skills in home modifications.

“Shadow” 3 experienced OTs as we complete home visits in real houses, and with real clients, to work through the clinical reasoning process and considerations when completing an environmental assessment.

    Assess environmental barriers that could impact someone’s ability to function as safely
    and independently in their home

    Understand property considerations based on construction and age of the dwelling

    Understand house structural issues that could impact home modifications options

    Identify cost effective alternatives to make a home environment more suitable for
    people with mobility limitations

    Develop short and long-term options to reduce environmental barriers for people with
    mobility impairments or who use wheeled mobility devices
